To clean travertine grout lines mix equal parts baking soda and water to create a gritty paste. Travertine tile cleaning is slightly more complicated than other tile cleaning.

Stain removal depends on the type of product that made the stain. Fill your bucket with warm water and add the cleaner you ve chosen. For regular cleaning use a mild neutral ph soapless cleaner mixed with water. Ideally you should use mild phosphate free biodegradable liquid dishwashing soaps or powders or stone soaps to clean your travertine tile.

While the cleaning solution is dwelling on the ceramic tile surface you should agitate the tile with a stiff brush or scrub pad. Read the directions to ensure the product is used correctly. Follow the manufacturer s directions on the cleaning solution and gently wash in an overlapping sweeping motion from the bottom up on a vertical surface. Use coasters under all glasses bottles and cans.

Warm water is effective at cleaning travertine floors since it cuts through most soil and grease. Bottles cans and glasses with acidic drinks may etch the polish or damage the surface leaving a glass ring.
